As a platform generally created for professionals and business owners, this is definitely the first pick as you’re searching for an assistant. You can filter the type of skills you need from an assistant through their search bar, check out their profiles and any recommendations they might have from previous clients, or simply check their experience in one place.
We would recommend connecting with a few virtual assistants and seeing if they could be a match to who you’re looking for, and simply sending them a message if they do.
- Upwork
Another popular platform geared for hiring mostly freelancers, part-time VAs, and specialized VAs. You can simply create a job post or even send out requests to applicants through their profiles. It can be highly competitive though, as many new freelancers would be eager to compete and find work.
- Onlinejobs.ph
A popular site if you’re trying to hire Filipinos, and one that you can easily find someone for freelance, part-time, or full-time work. It’s an easy platform that you can use to communicate with the applicant, or altogether talk to them outside of the platform as well. They have a time tracker you can use, and also verifies users with their own verification process.
𝟓. 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩𝐬
As the popularity of working online has grown, so have communities where you can easily hire and find a virtual assistant in different Facebook groups. Usually, there will be actual Facebook groups dedicated to VAs, but we recommend asking for recommendations on Facebook groups of your industry or a tool you use, so you can vet them in different criteria you might have.
𝟔. 𝐕𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐀𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲
If you’d like to skip the process of hiring someone altogether and just get vetted applicants, working with a Virtual Assistant agency is your best route. Usually these companies will have a thorough process on hiring, as well as become a mediator between you and your VA as needed, and in charge of the VA’s training and management as well
- Free Up
With their online database of freelancers who are vetted and tested, Free Up is a website where you can skip those who might not have the skills that you need and just skip to hiring someone for the work you need to get done. It’s mostly or freelancers with some people to open for full-time work, so it can be a range you can work with.
- Task Bullet
You can purchase their “buckets” of time that you need an assistant to work for you on a weekly/monthly basis. They already have a team of VAs who they will pick to match with you and what you need for your business.
𝟗. 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬
Good chances are, your community of other business owners have probably hired VAs before, or are currently working with one. You can ask for recommendations on how they were able to get them, or if they have recommendations of VAs they’ve already worked with before that they liked and you can get started there.
In the end, you’ll really need to set up a good enough system so you know that a Virtual Assistant is the right one for you.
