How Barry Coziahr Built Stampede Branding, Team Builders, and Empowered 10,000+ Business Owners

Scaling an enterprise requires establishing robust operational systems, delegating non-core responsibilities, and focusing leadership bandwidth on high-value initiatives. In the digital marketing and remote staffing spaces, leveraging the 80/20 principle allows agency leaders to streamline client workflows and expand sustainable team structures.

On an episode of the Scale You Podcast, hosted by Le-an Lai Lacaba—co-founder of an Executive Assistant Agency, 2xYou—sat down with Barry Coziahr, founder of Stampede Branding and Team Builders Agency. Barry shared his journey from growing up in an entrepreneurial household and serving in the non-profit sector to consulting over 10,000 small business owners, delivering 1,000+ workshops across the US, and scaling two distinct remote agencies.

From Non-Profit Service to Agency Entrepreneurship

Barry’s approach to business leadership was heavily influenced by his father, a successful entrepreneur who built multiple businesses while maintaining a strong commitment to community service.

After starting his career in the publishing industry, Barry spent over a decade working full-time in the non-profit sector, delivering character education and community workshops. He later transitioned into entrepreneurship alongside his wife, Claire, launching a marketing firm that evolved into Stampede Branding.

To support their internal operations and eliminate operational bottlenecks, they began integrating remote virtual assistants. Recognizing how much this transformed their own growth, they established Team Builders Agency to deliver remote staffing solutions to external business owners.

“We used a lot of remote personnel—virtual assistants basically—to help us expand our company. We decided that was something other business people could benefit from if they had remote personnel to take over work that was burdening them.” — Barry Coziahr

The 80/20 Principle of Delegation: Reclaiming Executive Focus

A cornerstone of Barry’s delegation framework stems from the 80/20 Principle (popularized by Richard Koch and Perry Marshall). The core concept dictates that 80% of business outcomes originate from 20% of strategic efforts.

To scale effectively, founders must categorize tasks into two distinct operational buckets:

Implementing the Delegation Model:

  1. Offloading Low-Yield Tasks: Handing off vital but time-consuming daily functions—such as inbox management, administrative logistics, and bookkeeping—to trained assistants.

  2. Augmenting High-Yield Focus: Utilizing executive assistants to amplify the 20% of high-impact activities, such as managing appointment setting, prospect outreach, and client onboarding.

By applying this model internally, Barry's wife, Claire, delegated financial administration to a dedicated virtual assistant, freeing up her capacity to write and self-publish historical romance novels—growing her publishing arm into a multi-six-figure enterprise.

Integrating AI and Remote Assistants for Operational Scaling

Rather than viewing artificial intelligence as a replacement for human staff, Barry treats AI as a force multiplier for remote team members.

While some business owners find technology integrations daunting, trained remote assistants actively learn, test, and adopt new AI platforms to double their output:

  • Task Augmentation: Assistants leverage Large Language Models (LLMs) to speed up research, draft communications, and handle data entry.

  • Continuous Learning: Tapping into the strong educational mindset within the Philippine remote workforce to continuously adapt to evolving software stacks.

  • Human Oversight & Verification: Maintaining active oversight over AI outputs, recognizing that AI requires human judgment, factual verification, and ethical alignment.

“AI is a big calculator… It doesn't have a sense of right or wrong. It's got to have people investing ethical standards into it through programmers or by using it in a good way.” — Barry Coziahr

Community Impact and Ethical Leadership

Throughout his two decades in business, Barry has maintained a commitment to non-profit initiatives, including character education through The Way to Happiness International.

Whether building remote staffing agencies, delivering business seminars, or contributing to community programs, Barry’s core strategy centers on equipping people with practical systems, clear moral standards, and the operational freedom to achieve long-term growth.
