5 Ways to Repurpose Content and Generate A Week’s Worth of Social Media Posts

Are you a Virtual Assistant who is also in charge of managing your client’s social media, like me? ⁣

One of the best things I learned from working for a business consultant, author, and podcaster was creating a system that made social media posts easy to plan.⁣

As a result, I had to spend less time strategizing for my client's social media posts. With more time available, I can handle business operations, coordinate with his collaborators, and do important research.⁣

Here are 5 ways to make the most of your client’s published content to create a week’s worth of social media posts.⁣

𝟏. 𝐆𝐞𝐭 𝐏𝐮𝐥𝐥-𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐐𝐮𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐬⁣

This is a quick and easy way to create social media graphics for Instagram or little tweets for Twitter. Skim through your client’s previously published blog posts and look for some striking lines you think your audience would appreciate.⁣

If your client is an author and has a book(s) published, read them and take note of the highlightable lines from their book(s)!⁣

This can easily generate 5 social media posts!⁣

𝟐. 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐬⁣

Carousel posts are multiple-image posts that a viewer can swipe through. This trend started on Instagram, but people have come up with more creative ways to post Carousels on platforms like Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook.⁣

Skim through your previously published blog posts again and look out for bullet point/numbered text you can re-use and turn into a carousel. Normally, 1 bullet point line = 1 image.⁣

This blog post would be a perfect example of content that could be turned into a carousel.⁣

𝟑. 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐕𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐨 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐬⁣

Trim your 50min long YouTube videos/live streams into short video clips you can post on all your social media platforms. A bonus would be posting them on your Instagram if they’re under 15 seconds, or Facebook/LinkedIn stories if they’re under 20 seconds.⁣

𝟒. 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐬⁣

Listacles or list posts are articles that are written in a list-based format. This is perfect for audiences that have very little time to go through a long blog post.⁣

A cool content idea would be to gather all the articles referenced in your client’s blog (it might be a good idea to start creating a database for your references) based on a particular topic, and turn them into a summarized list. You can even add articles your client has written!⁣

𝟓. 𝐐𝐮𝐨𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬⁣

Everyone loves relatable quotes, and I’m sure there are a few on your client’s blog/website. Quote cards are an excellent way to share your client’s favorite quotes with your audience. It’s always a great idea to share an inspirational quote a week, and hope that it finds its way to someone who needs it.⁣

Pick out a few quotes from your client’s blog/website and remake them into a graphic. Write a caption that describes the blogpost you got the quote from to drive people to your website.⁣

Podcasters can use quote cards to promote upcoming podcasts and give listeners a taste of what guests will be discussing. This is where your podcast transcription can come in handy! Pull out those quotable quotes and turn them into a graphic.⁣

A content creator can save a lot of time by repurposing content. Like hitting 2 birds with one stone, except you hit four.⁣

Even before you begin writing a new blog post or article, consider your repurposing options. One story can inspire dozens of posts! ⁣

Remember, repurposing isn't simply about producing more content; you must keep in mind that what you create must be useful or have value for your viewers.⁣
